Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Adults

CANI is responsible for safeguarding the welfare of all young people involved in canoe & kayaking by protecting them from any form of child abuse. CANI is committed to making sure that children and vulnerable adults enjoy paddlesport in a safe environment in which they are protected from any form of poor practice or abuse. The Child Protection policy works to instill good practice and raise awareness for everyone involved in the sport.

Working together with the NSPCC, Child Protection in Sport Unit, and Sport N.I consultants and BCU, CANI has developed and adopted BCU policies and procedures to ensure that all reported concerns or allegations are investigated.

The NSPCC have launched the a collection of online films- 'Play Sport Stay Safe'. The films are free to view on the NSPCC's Child Protection in Sport Unit website at www.thecpsu.org.uk
